Have you made a deal with the seller for this Cavalier or are you posting it here for others to take a stab at it?

Yes, 200 more then you will officially be a jerk  laugh

Small script cav 72 are a tougher sell than the large... I think there are better ones out there to be had for 1400, but maybe this guy is willing to negotiate?

100% up for grabs. I'd never post something I'm trying to acquire.

The 81d wasn't posted until deal fell through or should I say until a bird crapped on my head........which I'm hoping will stimulate follicle growth.

Why would you consider that a parts machine?

The only thing I see missing is the coin box, Why part out a nearly complete machine like that?

That's the perfect machine to restore as far as condition but I wouldn't restore a small letter 72. Can't leave it as is, it's a eye sore but appears to be straight and complete so yes, perfect restoration candidate. Also parting out a 72 won't bring you nearly as much as say parting out a 81. The 81 has many more valuable parts.

Don't restore a small font. Don't pay much for a cav 72. I like the cav 72 a lot! As much as a 81d. If it has large font.

If you own an 81 d or B and try to sell it, your phone will ring off the hook. Go sell a cav 72 ......... It will be a lonely time.

I don't know why the cav 72 hasn't shot up in popularity! It's a beautiful machine. I think it's supply and demand because I see more 72 s on craigslist then 81s.
