Hi everyone, I am new to this board and to popcorn machines.

I just purchased a Popmatic popcorn machine made in 1937. It is missing the base and may be missing other stuff, but I have not received it yet, so I do not know.

If anyone has a working Popmatic, let me know, maybe you would be willing to help me see if mine is complete.

Also if anyone has a base or parts for sale I would be interested. If anyone has had a base made let me know.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello Jeff,
Welcome to the board! Post a few pictures when you get the machine. A few members here have or had one. Any luck they will assist. Do you have any idea what the white stand was used for in the pic?
Thanks!

It is not a stand, it was a neon lighted martini glass for a bar.

Seems like i remember seeing a craigslist Ad for one of these up around the Oregon area.....is this the one?

Good find on your part but the base and light up topper on these are near to impossible to find but you never know with this site as something may pop up....

Take Care,

Jeff

Jeff there are a few varieties of the Popmatics that where produced.
Yours is often found without a base, and I think was made for a counter top machine.. but could be wrong.
of the ones I've seen yours is the one I've never seen with a base.
I have owned one years ago, but was missing lots of internal parts but had base.
search for some posts on SMC and you'll see the different varieties..

good luck!

Revised:  just looking at your other posts of your clock and digger restorations.. I don't think you'll have any problem with the popmatic restoration.. you seem to have quite the understanding of mechanical operations.!  wow..

Welcome to the board. happydrinkers

I did get this one from Oregon.

From the research I have done, none of the original Popmatics had a topper. It may have been an option, but most did not have it. The next generation 24a had the topper. I have lots of pictures showing the machine in various locations without the topper.

I could not post the pic I had of the machine on location because the file was too large.

It can be seen here though:
