I'm restoring a Vendo 90 for a customer and I think the Vendo Solenoid is bad? or not working?
not sure if it's the connection, the Coin mech? or what.

I have a new coin mech coming to try, but does anyone have an extra Solenoid?

Thanks
John

I have a bunch of them. Try sending 110 volts to it for 1 second, that tells you if it is good. They often just need a drop of oil.

Ok, I'll try that...
it moves freely but no signal to it? maybe it's the coin mech?

I ordered a new one from Funtronics,, so we'll see if that triggers it..

if not I may reach out to you!

Thanks

I have a quick tester for machines which is just an old Jones plug and wiring cut from a bad mech with a pushbutton switch on the other end, wired in the free-play switch way.  I take it with me when I buy a machine to do a quick check on the vending if the coin mech happens to not be working.  Nice little tool to have around the shop when working on a machine too, and pretty quick to put together.

Tom,

Just read your response on this subject - You mention a wiring harness you use to check the vend cycle when the Coinco unit is inoperable. Could you post a wiring diagram of this harness?

Do a search on this site for "freeplay switch", it's been discussed here many times.

http://soda-machines.com/discussions/index.php/topic,871.0.html

I just cut the jones plug cord from a dead coin mech and wire a momentary switch between the #1 & #3 wires, very simple
