Vendo 59 Standard

I have an opportunity to buy a very nicely restored & local Vendo 59 standard. I don't have pictures, (might this afternoon) but as I mentioned, it is very nicely resotred. The coin mech works; it cools and vends properly. He is asking $2,800. I know the book calls it an "Orphan", but is it worth the asking price?

The guy probably has a lot more than $2800.00 into the restoration alone, but he is now realizing there is not much demand for his machine.
Happens very often on these embossed chests and it always puts the buyer in the drivers seat.

Unless you like the machine and is on your wish list I would stay away. That machine unfortunately falls into that category of not getting back what you have into it to restore, not even counting the cost of the machine. Plus the machine has no real collector value although I'm sure it looks nice. Even if it was a great restoration I wouldn't value that machine much higher then $1500.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a V81, which I use daily and a V23, which I fill with short drinks for parties only. If the V59 held the longnecks, I might be a buyer. And my man cave is too full as it is, so I am passing on the machine.

This is EXACTLY the drawback on all single vend machines.
