Curious to know if the porcelain sign pictured has ever been reproduced...
I did a little research and did find a photo of what appeared to be an original porcelain sign; however, the back is white porcelain not black as the one I posted.
Every one of these signs I have seen that I felt was original always has grommets! The sign pictured does not have any signs of even having grommets!
In my research, I have found this exact sign at auctions without grommets and in excellent condition.
I'm leaning towards, if it looks too good and doesn't add up, it probably is too good!
Any direction is greatly appreciated...

Can't see the back and unsure if they were reproduced but maybe this will help:

Book says the original is 12x28 with grommets... but man that is nice job if that is a repro.

I just saw this light up repro on eBay. Same design but light up. This shows me its not to hard to reproduce.

I have this sign. Yes it has grommets. The back is white. I am not aware that it has been reproduced. Mine is no where near as perfect as that one. Hope this helps!

Hey Jim, I have this sign in mint condition and it has the grommets and a white back as well.  With this one not having the grommets and being as clean as it looks, it is not correct.

Jim,
I know we talked about his a few days ago, but I have done more research as well, and even though this is well done, I do believe it to be reproduced? where they asking mint original pricing? or could you pick it up for 150-200? if so , would still be a great pickup?  if they are asking 800-1000 definitely not.

Thanks for all the input everyone!
I to believe this is a reproduction sign.
The biggest discriminating feature is the "black back" opposed to a "white back"; grommets can go missing, but you cannot change the porcelain color on the back!
As for the price, the seller had a price on the back of $800 and $450 on the front which also lead me to believe something was wrong...
The search continues...

Thanks again for everyone's input ! ! !
