I forgot to add that the seller built a crate for $50... still cheaper than me driving my gas drink'n truck there
and back would have been a two day trip and with gas prices.....

I only have experience with Foward Air.  Then seem to be the cheapest and have not destroyed anything yet.  Of course you have to live close to an airport that has one of their terminals to make it worthwhile.

I called Forwar Air a few days ago to check on creating an account with them. They said that you do have to have an account to ship and the require you to be a business and pass a credit check. Well that isn't a problem but they require you to have a minimum of $10,000 in the account provided for the credit check, and after 6 months of not shipping with them your account is void and you have to start over again. I explained that other companies were not like that and she suggested that I go to another company then. I have had great experiences with them when Glen has shipped things to me but I couldn't believe their strict policies and rudeness.

Steve,
I think you are speaking of Eric at Machinemovers.com.  I've used him a few times.  He just picked up one of Josh's machines for me, which should be arriving soon.  I like his service as he doesn't require palleting or shrink wrapping.  He specializes in jukes, soda machines, etc.  Plus when you call you get him personally, not a clerk in the office.

It was $300.00 from Josh in Ohio to me in MA door to door (he usually brings the machines right into my basement Tongue ).

His ETA's can swing wildly as he gets busy, but he's a great guy.

His site is machinemovers.com.  You can reach him at 928 279 4224.

When he came to get the machine I was amazed at how friendly he was. I asked him about cost and he said $300 is a good estimate for most jobs. But yes it might take a while. I asked him about picking up the gullwing in Colorado and he said it could be up to two months, but that is only because he is located in the west and doesn't plan on being in Ohio again soon.

Eric just picked up a machine from my shop last month, now he's in your territory.
I asked him if he was going to park his trailer at Chigagoland show, for hire.  He usually does, but this year he decided he can't get a full enough load.
This site could keep him pretty busy. Group discount LOL

I just got off the phone with Eric.  He made it all the way from the West Coast, picked up the machine at Josh's place, got as close as New Jersey (I'm in MA), and just told me he's run out of time and has to head to the show in Chicago - so he can't deliver my machine!   '<img'>  .  It's just the way he works - I knew that going in.

The original estimate was four weeks.  Josh, when was that - back in February? ':<img:'>

He's a great guy and your machines will be in good hands - but do not use Eric if you want a firm delivery deadline.  I'm in absolutely no rush so it's fine with me.
