I know shipping has come up before but I have not been able to find the answers to my question in the search so here goes:
Dealing with dispensers I don’t usually have a need for a shipping company beyond UPS, Fed-Ex or the U.S. Post Office but have my eye on one that would need a shipping company. I have seen a post here with good things to say about DHL and one about a guy that is a mover of collectibles and antiques. What I need is a shipper that can pick up and crate or pallet a 500 pound machine and then deliver it from the east coast to the west coast. Any suggestions?

I've used DHL to ship small Items, but they are a bit of a pain, at least here in Flint, MI. they never have any shipping materials, Boxes, packing...for large items I use Fedexfreight
I drop off the machine, the put it on a pallet & shrink wrap it...
I supply the tie-down (ratchet straps), I ship it terminal to terminal, which is quite inexpensive,
I've also heard good things about Forward air (terminal to termnal shipping to most major airports), but again , their website stinks & you can't get a straight answer out of anybody. (unless you're shipping a Harley, that is)
I've heard of people using NorthAmerican vanlines moving co., but I've never gotten a straight answer out of anyone on cost (from the Company) or even how to set up a pickup/dropoff & when I talk to them on the phone, they dodge the issue when I ask about shipping a vending machine... oh and here's a tip...NEVER tell the shipper it's an "antique" or "collectable" soda-machine, they won't accept it. only tell them it's a "vending machine" & Don't forget insurance... |

Just today I was wondering what the average shipping price to Minnesota would be for a $400-$500 machine.

Hello Racerx,
I normally use Forward Air, but you will have to crate and deliver the machine to their nearest terminal. I usually pay approx. 200.00 from east to west coast, as well as from canada. Terry  '>

I just spoke to NorthAmerican vanlines and they want 271 from weisconsin to Cincinnati. Door to door. Not bad.

Hello
I am using R & L shipping lines for the new machine being shipped to me & I just got quote for shipping the V56 from Charleston to Markito in the frozen tundra (Min) for $225. I will report back when I get the final cost of shipping for my new machine. Let's see how close the shipping quote is to the final price.

Sorry. I just remembered that you were up there in the frozen tundra of the upper midwest.
The shipping cost is all based on total weight & then pick-up/delivery locations. The cost for the shipper is adjusted based on picking up at a loading dock or off the ground at your home.

I am in the shipping fog too…get it…Ship ….fog??? ok sorry.
I have seen quotes for $150 – $200 for shipping a machine. I bought a slider from an auction house near KC, MO. I have quotes from UPS for $379.00 (to the terminal). I also have 377.00 from Craters and Freighters to my door. Is this high or about right? Forward Air has terminals at both ends for me…but website (as mentioned is useless). Any thoughts you …uh…shipmates…

I used FedEx Freight to ship my 7up junior (120 lbs.) from ND to Missouri for $142.00 But they are
cheaper if you ship business to a business not to a residential.... Also hear Bus lines
are cheap! I guess they just strap them inside near the back....
Give one of them a call.
