I am restoring my first vending machine and of course I can't figure out where this part goes. I believe it has something to do with the door but can't figure out where and how to mount it. Any suggestions? The model number is USS-8-64K DP  April 1972 model. I believe this is a Cavalier 64 unless I was given the wrong information.

          It mounts in the main door, separates the coin door from the sign.

Yep. And I think you need to flip it over.

yup now I see it. Only thing is it seems REALLY tight like I'm going to scratch the paint if I force it.

Put a couple pieces of painters tape above and below where it bolts in, then jimmy it into place.
