It is the same cooler as what I own, but mine has a DP brick logo sign on the front.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-OLD-DR-PEPPER-COOLER-ICE-CHEST-MANUFACTURED-ATLAS-METAL-WORKS-DALLAS-TEXAS-/331057186526?ssPageName=ADME:B:FSEL:US:1123

Mine, which has been restored, was in much better shape. Current auction cooler is below mine. I bought mine back in 2003 in CA when I was picking up some machines. The guy had started to take it apart and abandoned the project. I paid $50 for it I think.

I saw those brackets on the current auction; however, mine did not have any remnants of the tray.
This is the only one like mine that I have seen since I bought mine 10 years ago.
I wish I had gotten to the guy before he ripped it apart. Here is a pic he sent me of it prior to dismantling it.

I made an offer on the one on eBay but doubt I will get it. I can fix the rust but that requires a lot of time and work. It would look great next to that unknown 1930s Coca Cola counter top cooler I bought a few months ago.

The seller accepted my offer. Should be a fun project when time allows.

Congrats!
It is an uncommon counter cooler.
Are you going to redo the brick logo or find a small brick sign like mine?
What does you CC counter cooler look like? I don't remember it.

I may try to find the small sign like yours. I know where one is at. But you have to buy the whole ideal 35 to get it ha ha.

Yes almost identical with the exception mine has handles on the sides. When I was stripping the paint mine was originally painted an off white color. Had black feet and the lid was black as well. Someone before they painted it gray sanded the box. So I will never know if it was originally a Coca Cola cooler but it will be restored like the one the Schmidt Museum sold.
