In a few days, I will be driving to Houghton, MI to participate in the Copper Country Fall Color Tour on September 28th. This one day 200K (125 mile) bicycle ride from Houghton to Copper Harbor and back is my "Ride for John Two" to honor the memory of my brother-in-law, John Convertino who lost his battle with mesothelioma in 2009. I am also raising funds for the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation to help fund research and hopefully find a cure for this terrible disease.
My goal is to raise $5,000 or $25 per kilometer and to date my total stands at $3,000. I want to thank all of the people who have contributed to my ride and ask those of you who have not to consider sponsoring a kilometer or whatever you can afford. Every dollar will make a difference.
A lot of your guys supported my Ride for the Cure in August for breast cancer awareness and research so I understand that you can't support them all. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

PS--I will also be picking up something for another member on this trip but I will let him tell you about it when the item is safely in his hands!
