Coin acceptors - Vendo 90 - question

Ok I figured out how to set the price. Now - why don't then nickels fill up the change tubes.  They go directly to the coin box and thus it does not make change   Thanks  Coinco - Coin Acceptors

Seriously though... There are many different models of Coin acceptors coinmechs...somethings blocking the coin path through the slug rejector, check to seem if your CREM* in pulled in ( the relay coil with the wire "fingers" that hides right behind the slug rejector) see if it looks burnt ( careful, it's powered by line voltage, plus it can get very physically hot too!) when you plug the machine in, it ( the CREM*) should pull in the fingers & "click" ( sometimes it will buzz or hum) you can see it work by leaving the slug rejector off while you test it.

* CREM = Coin_Reject_Electro_Magnet(s)  getting tired of repeating myself, the sites search function is a very useful tool hint hint...

I removed both armetures off of the CREM's and although the buzzing noise is gone - it still does not allow coins in the change tubes. Hmm

Hmm...you could just have the wrong style of slug rejector installed in your mech, ( one from another coinmech that doesn't belong in yours) or some other mechanical problem with it, a stuck rejection lever, sweeper arm, busted coin cradles, etc.

PS, funny thing about just removing the movable armatures off of the coin CREMS coils, they will quickly overheat & burn out, you really should remove & insulate the electrical wires also to remove power from the CREMS.

OR dump the ol' boat anchor of a coinmech & install plastic model like a Coinco 75-9800 series.
