Collecting Ideal Sliders

« on: August 25, 2013, 06:30:43 pm »

I am tearing down two ideal 55's right now and the compressors are a little crusty. In the past, all I've had to do is clean them up. Is getting these rebuilt or having new, later model compressors the right way to go? Does anyone know what either should cost?

I restored a Glasco slider and purchased a Tecumseh 1/6hp model #AEA3414YXAXA. Fit perfect, runs and chills perfectly. It takes 134A refrigerant. I paid $130 back in 2010.

Also have a restored coin box with mech if interested. (Not cheap)  biggrin biggrin biggrin
