My latest interests has been arcade games and slot machines I have two semi-vintage 1981 Bally E Series that are a pain to keep running... parts are getting harder to find.
So I decide to get a newer slot, but one that still handle coins (really don't care for the newer coin-less ones)
I been looking for a IGT S+ because they are known as good reliable machine, but the can run from $350~900 depending on theme and condition. I like all my machines to be daily drivers ... ones that look nice (not perfect) and work well. Being cheap I was looking on CL and found a 1993 IGT Wild Cherry nickle machine  ... The seller originally wanted only $250  for it because it looked rough; the chrome had surface rust  and it was greasy (it was stored in a trunk repair garage). So when I first went out to look at it I wasn't sure if it would clean up and I didn't know much about the IGT slot machines to test it so I decided to past. Two days later the  seller text me back (he wasn't there when I looked at it) and asked if I was still interested in the machine I said maybe but not at that price.  I told him it was rough and needed some restoration, he said come back out and make him and offer he's ready to deal. When I got back there I was a little more prepared... I printed up the service manual and I had a small container of chrome polish and a few rags. The machines tested good.. no errors and I tried the chrome polish on the spots of surface rust it came off and shined. Also I was able to wipe and clean a reel.  So now I was interested again and I  offered him $140 he counter with $160 we meet in the middle at $150.

So I got it home and it cleaned up nice and is fun to play.

Wow you got a really good buy on that. They are fun slot machines to play. We have two of them in our showroom and we love playing them. It's like going to the casino but not loosing your money. I never can seem to win at the casinos.  down
