Are there better pictures... from these it looks like the front sign is darkened by age.. if it was bright, crisp NOS and you have the $1200 to spend on it
and you like it then yes.. but if the paints dull, signs darkened, and it's a 7 on a scale from 1-10 , then NO... At that price it needs to be NOS quality...
not $1200 cause a book says so
anyway my .o2

I agree with Eric, the sign looks to be covered with surface rust. The background was probably yellow or white.

I could not find this piece in my Petretti's guide but the price  found for 1993 at $350 is usually for perfect condition.

The mirrors and frames have no period advertising so they and the turntable are just hardware, and probably too easy to reproduce from a collectors point of view.

In my opinion, the only real value is in the cutout sign.

I have no regrets passing on a $1200 rusty display piece.
It would be easy to reproduce, I have the display turntable, any good hobby shop carries them, mirrors,  a vintage bottle find the logo online and Done

I'm curious what you would pay for an item that was in a 1993 price guide for 350.00 in today's dollars? Since we have no updated price guides how would you personally formulate a price on an item such as this that you have found? It lights up and spins the bottle.

$350 in 93' would be about $550 today. Still too high, but if you really like it make an fair offer you can live with.

If the only point of reference is a mint condition price from 1993 of $350, where did the seller get $1200 from?  I did a quick look and couldnt find another one that sold between then and now to get an idea of "current" price.

If you really want it and it has been for sale for awhile, see if you can get the seller to accept a more realistic price that reflects the condition.

Personally if I had $1,200 to spend, it wouldnt be on that but I agree that it is to each their own.

The plastic sign on the front does have some age and yellowing. I would say its maybe a 7 at best from what I can see. Yes I could make one for cheap but then its not an original piece which is what I collect. I have never seen anything like it so I thought it was interesting. I think you are all correct the price is a little out of line. I still think high on the unusually cool scale for me though.
