What is a ballpark spread for a full profesional restoration starting with a unrestored complete machine. I mean everything wiring, paint the works. I understand it can be only a educated guess without seeing the machine in person but I just need an idea of cost.  I have the opportunity to buy a profesionally restored machine for 4200.00. I posted in another thread looking for a value of my popperette in its current condition and didn't get a single value. I would assume that's because of the recent thread about the vendo 83. I wouldn't of been offended like the other guy I just need help with my debate. I figured I'd ask the question another way since I couldn't get a value. I want to see if its going to be cheaper to restore mine or buy the other.
My original cost of machine + restoration= X   or I buy   5 year old restoration machine 4200.00      Restoration cost will help me do the math and help me decide what to do. Thanks

From what I've read here on the value of these machines $4200.00 doesn't sound out of line depending on the restoration. You might want to contact Signguy directly since he restores these or he might weigh in later.

I haven't commented  on value because I have no experience with popperettes. But yeah, I agree with Ken, if I were looking, and it is a grade 1 restoration, 4200 isn't out of line

I have seen machines like yours with stand sell for anywhere between $1800-$2300. The stand makes the machine. Restored, I have seen them go for $2800+. All depends on how good of job and how much someone wants to pay to have a restored one.
