WOW! And I thought the Lyons was a cool machine. Is there a more beautiful machine than the Syphonmix?
Anyone know the history of the company?

Do you have any pics of the inside of that Siphonmix machine? I agree, an absolutely beautiful looking machine. Very unique.

Pinballdude, I'm not sure if there's a better looking machine but It is unique. The company that made it was called the Soda Service Corporation. From the information I've found which is very limited showed the corporation in business from 1922-1927. Max Albert Walters assisted in the developement of the machine during that period. I attached the links to some of the the info I found. I've done a chronological order of ownership all the way back to 1991. It's very interesting. I'm still working on the rest and have a long way to go back to 1924. If anyone has any info before 1991 please PM me. Thanks

Cohammer, No Prob. Oldschool, Here you go. The machine has no electrical it is all mechanical. Very neat to see how they made it back in 1924. The first pic is of the inside coin mech/mechanical arm that dispenses syrup and carbonated water from tank above. The coin box is on the right side. Second pic is tank above.

Very interesting. Thanks for the pics. Whoever designed that machine was a master. I absolutely love the sign on top. Would be hard to find a prettier, more eye catching design. I bet it's stunning in person.

Let me chime on on this one....since I have collected up machines forever and I have a ton, here is my story on this. I owned this machine!!!! It is orignial on the inside, no doubt about it!!!!! However, the outside has been reproduced, the shell, the mirror and the sign. The original sign is did come with the machine and is in a framed picture frame. There is no doubt that this machine is rare and will work, with the proper restore job.

I never got around to doing it and decided to downsize, so out it went. I think you have a real keeper here and look forward to seeing it work!

Brian, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thanks for helping with the facts. I did find the same information as you did. I talked to a member on this site that had made the sign that is on it now and he also mentioned they replaced the mirrors. I also have the framed original sign your referring to. The framing around mirrors, coin mech, internal parts, etc. are original but have been restored many years ago. The mirror framing was chromed at same time the sign and mirrors were installed. I do have pictures before and after plating and I think it really makes the machine. I do agree that at some point they may have replaced some of the sheet metal. I'm sure after almost 100 years there was some kind of rust that needed to be fixed. Thanks again for your input. When I get it 100% operational I will send you a video. biggrin
