General Maintenance

I am still pretty new to soda machine restoration and just have a general question. I have a Cavalier 72 in pretty good shape and not restored. At this point the only thing I have done is replace the wiring harness and installed the reproduction drop in tub floor (purchased from Funtronics and a perfect fit). At some point I will probably restore it, but since it is working fine and I have another machine I am working on I am in no hurry. So, I have it in my garage fully stocked and working perfectly. My question is what does everyone do as general maintenance when they are using their machines on a regular basis? Right now every two or three months I basically turn it off, wipe it down inside and out (including the bottle opener), scrub the condenser down with a long brush (made to clean out drier lint traps) and then use an air compressor to blow out the debris from the condenser. Is there anything I am missing?

You got a pretty good handle on it. All I do is dump the bottle caps every week

Clean and bleach the drain tube. Mold is nasty stuff. Think you have it otherwise.

If it is working properly now you can use and abuse it and it will be fine. Remember, this machine was made in the 50's, back when things were made right and made to last.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I have updated my maintenance to now include the following:
- Wipe it down inside and out.
- Clean the condenser with a brush and air compressor.
- Empty out the cap catcher and coin box.
- Fill the coin tube if needed.
- Clean and bleach the drain tube.
Thanks again guys I appreciate it as always.
