Just found this little cutie. Model # HA56-a-a, Serial 305006652. Problem: Can't find this model# anywhere. Also, cant find a year? I've narrowed it down to 1952-ish. I have had no luck finding a picture that matches, and I do believe I've looked at every single picture of a coke/vendo machine there is on the net. The one thing that makes this machine a little different is that the serving door is solid, but has "bottle cap" red circles where the bottle holes would be. It's a first for me?? The letters on the front are raised a simple "coca-cola". If any one can help, or point me in the right direction, I will dance at your wedding!! Thanks, Rayven

Sounds like you have one of those transitional machines that had not yet been standardized for square tops. Some of these machines even had the manual coin mech with the handle..but I digress....I believe your machine dates from 1959-1960. There is one of these machines in a local diner here in California with the bottle door as you describe. The panel also says "Coca Cola or Drink Coca Cola" on metal. Yeah, too this model did not have the plexi glass light up panel but it is a great machine...hope this helps.

WOW! Thanks Rayven, U just gave me a flashback from about 10 years ago!
Was late one Sunday evening and I was finishing a restoration on an old Coke machine. I heard a tapping noise comming from my front shop window. An attractive young lady is trying to get my attention. When I unlocked the door, she told me she was driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles but was running low on gas and had no money.
(OK guys ,do I have your attention yet)?
She wanted to borrow money and all she had for collateral was this Coke machine in the back of her truck. You guessed it..........the above mentioned Vendo 56 in fabulous condition. Said her EX- boyfriend paid $800.00 for it from an antique store several days before.
I loaned her $100.00 for 60 days, but she never came back, so I sold it. Wish I still had it though, never realized how rare that embossed version really was.
