I was there last year (Punta Cana as well).
DR is a great place.  People are friendly, food is good, nice things to see.....
I think Dec. though is their rainy season.  The first time I went there, about 25 years ago on a family trip, we went over xmas and New Years, and it rained for  10 out of the 14 days.
HAve a drink by the pool for me!!!!

Have fun!

Thanks all !!
Punta Cana is where we are headed. Plenty of drinks will be had by the pool :-)

Hope not rained out but not the end of the world. Can still snorkel just kills visibility.

Tim, Assume you want Cubans? Any fav's? Last year in Cancun what I was comfortable with as being real were $30  each. Was a bit of a shock. Hope that DR isn't that high. I'll see what I can do.
Supposed to have WiFi at the resort so may be able have comms on what is available.

Hoping this is the year to catch the "Green Flash" at sunset. Been trying to see that for 8 years and counting :-)

Enjoy, should be a good time.  Wife and I are going down in February for our long awaited honey moon.

However, I'll be bringing my cigars full circle made in the DR back to the DR.    Have had Cubans before, but never thought they were worth the additional cost. Plus, I have about 500+ sticks in my humidors.

A lot of the cigars that are being made in the DR rival or are better than what is coming out of Cuba these days!  HAve fun!
