I have a choice vend 168 pepsi machine that, no matter what coinco changer is in it (jones plug) I cannot get them to give me the change back from the tubes (pushing quarter, nickel or dime buttons, or in the case of my older one, the black switch that will empty the tube of nickels)
What gives?Huh? is there a part of the jones plug that needs to be jumped???

sounds like you don't have any power going to the coinmech from the jones plug, check the female jones socket at pins #1 & 2 with an A.C. voltage meter rated to test at least 120Volts A.C.  or a simple neon light tester will work in a pinch. as I said, you should have 120 volts between Pins 1 & 2 of the female "Jones" socket on he machine. if not, then there may be an open wire or sometimes on later machines there was a small push-button type of circuit breaker that would have protected the coinmech in the event of a short circuit. if so, then all you need do is to push the red or black button back in with the machine unplugged.

there is also a possibility that you have not one, but two bad coinmechs.

or the machine simply doesn't like you.  laugh

Also note that some coinmechs were made in Scotland & they often just can't find it their nature to return any change whatsoever.   drinking

No, if it were, it would haggle over the vending price or the size of the soda.  tounge
