Another thing that will cause friction with the wife

I could not resist. I already have a great unrestored original (Vendo 39) but this one was in such nice shape that I had to pull the trigger. Everything works, gets cold and vends on a dime. It will be taken apart and be at the sand blasters by the weekend.
I hope.....

Restoring that machine should be a sin, but to each his own thats a nice clean original.

I agree with Joey
Restoring should be left for machines that need just that... restored. This one seems to be in great shape!
What if you sold it for a profit, and used the $$ to buy a machine in need of restoration, then get that one restored with the profit?
I know it's a personal pref. thing... but again.... machines that clean are getting harder and harder to find. After restoring it... it just becomes like all the others.

Yup....what they said.
I bought one almost as nice as that last month for $400.00.
Sold it the next week for $2000.00 but if it was restored I'd be lucky to get $3000.

Nice machine. I keep hoping to stumble across one like that. I wouldn't worry about your wife. They secretly like us buying coke machines.

Here is my original 39 and 33.. survivors... surviving all this time just to be stripped down and painted doesn't seem right to me
when they are in this condition... I notice a lot of collectors of gas pumps are doing the same... only original once.
But your machine your choice...

YouI think most of the comments here are correct. It is an amazing original. I have the same issue with my Jacobs 56 light up Pepsi. I love the restoration process but they are only original once.
I may just leave it. Thanks for the comments.
