I found a very large Moxie sign.
It's got at least 1/2 dozen colors.
Has the Moxie Boy and the Moxie "Bulls-eye."
It's dated 1950
It's framed in the original wood Frame like Coke signs of the 30's and 40's.
Regular paint not porcelain
6 foot by 3 foot
Probably the most beautiful and dynamic sign I have ever seen.
I have the most recent Moxie book (the one in black and white) and there is nothing in there like it.

Anyone know which Moxie book has a good reference section on signs?
Or anyone know Moxie signs well?
Thnx Fellas
BTW
It's not for sale I'm just fishing for info.

I drink it but don't collect the signs and would love to see a picture of it if it is that good.

On their facebook page, there was something recently that Ted Williams started in 1958, so it is likely before that date.

I do look at signs obsessively and have a few.
Typically wood framed like this one.
The one in question looks much more like a 30's, 40's sign but is indeed dated 1950.
Which probably speaks to the mojo of Moxie.
They had a design and it worked and they continued using it for decades.

Ted Williams apparently signed a contract with Moxie in 1957. That is according to one of the books.

This piece is 100% original and  the frame is 100% original and framed in wood in the back.
Different wood but framed just like 30's and 40's Coke, Generic, and Nehi signs ( not to mention may others) I have seen over the years.  In terms of construction.

What is behind the coolers? Looks like writing.

Like we often see on signs this size it's what I think is called a "Privilege" area.
Typically it would say something like Sonnys Deli or Delicatessen or Meats or anything like that.
This has that area and it does have the shops name.
