The normal wear on the cap catcher and a few other scratches leads me to believe it may be an original. I would certainly go by and examine it, as it would be a real prize for any Pepsi collector.

It is advertised as original/unrestored, and yes it is embossed.  From all of the discussion it sounds like it could be a good find.  I will try to go take a look at it this weekend and see where it leads. Thanks, Duane

What is he asking for it? Even if it is a true self serve Pepsi 110, and even if it is a nice original, it is still only worth so much. Rare doesn't always equal value.

He's asking $800 OBO.  My guess its a $400 to $500 machine tops.

I'd say he's in the ballpark. Obo means it could be bought for less. You said you thought it's worth $500 tops, you may or may not be right. It could be worth more. With the little information we have here we are all speculating and guessing until we have more facts but you are in a good, fun spot.

If this a fantasy VMC 6 Case Vertical machine would the only true way to tell is by pulling the door liner off and remove the insulation to check for welds around the inside embossing?

I agree with Joey easily could of been stripped down coin door etc, and made into a 6 Case.  As far as the shelves I have seen both styles.

Easily! I think you all are over-thinking this!
You would have to weld in embossing, bash in the  coin door area and level it out, figure out the cap catcher location (which happens to be correct).

And a LOT of work for what? To sell it for a lesser valued machine?
Who reproduces those hideous decals anyway?

You make a valid point regarding the coin door....

I hope the machine is bought so the mystery will be solved....

If it is real, then 500 -  800 is a good price, and in some areas, like mine, a great price.
If it is a fantasy, then 500 - 800 is a  good price, as it looks to be very well done.

either way, I like it
