Couldnt pass up the deal on these 2 machines today, the plan is to retheme one of them to match my Gulf gas pump and do Pepsi on the other since my wife is a Pepsi fan.

Anyone know of off the shelf spray paints that are a close match for these brands?

If you have a swatch of both colors, a paint shop can match, and  put it in a rattle can.

I like the idea, BTW. Keep us posted

Thanks Kilroy, any idea on how much they will charge per can?

I had a can of spray made up to match the Delft Blue on my Spitfire so I could paint the firewall after I stripped it.  Cost me about $20 if I recall correctly.

I stripped one machine down yesterday in probably under 2 hours.  I dont think I want to invest $60-80 in paint for these, they just arent worth it so I am going to see how high gloss off the shelf spray paint works.

That's the way to go.. Wouldn't worry too much about matching paint colours
get some off the shelf that look like coke and pepsi.

Was thinking about buying up a few myself...

My head was spinning shopping for decals, there were so many themes and choices.  If these two go well I can see retheming these becoming an addiction.  I would love to do a Sinclair, Dr. Pepper, Texaco and the list goes on.

ok, one done, one to go.  This was my first attempt at any type of restoration process so be kind.  I will probably trim the bottle cap decal on the glass once it dries well, I do not like all the extra white around it.  The other gumball machine I am going to do Gulf to match my gas pump.

I am hoping to build some confidence and move on to bigger projects
