Yes - the cradle has to spin freely. No spring attached - remove the clip, clean the post and reem the post hole with a cleaner. I use Brasso.

Collecture- I removed the cradle and cleaned it, put back together, and it works!  Thank you again for your help.  Hopefully I can return the favor some day.  happydrinkers
