Ideal a-55 slider

The compressor on this unit stopped running and the machine does not cool anymore. The compressor is hot to the touch, but the fan does not turn. Prior to this the unit would cool, but the interior would ice up over time.  Is it time to get a new compressor or can this one be salvaged? If new compressor is needed where can one be purchased?

I am not an expert on this but if your compressor is getting hot it sounds like it is working. Fan motors go bad and are cheep to replace. The best person to call is Erik at Global compressors. look for his number under parts suppliers on the home page. I have never had any work done by him but I have heard that he is great.
