New toy

OK.....thanks to flippa I am now the owner of one of the late model stoner 180s with the mint wheel.   Hoping to tap into everyones expertise as to where to begin.   I have done a little research and was just curious, is there anywhere online to get parts such as coin mech, etc or are Stoners in the category of what you see is what you get, build the rest.   Base is fairly rusted out, as well as bottom of machine.  Inside of machine is OK just needs a good cleaning, but the coin mech side of the machine was exposed to water at some point in it's pre-flippa storage.  Any info as to websites to visit, cleaning products that are good at getting rid of rust and years of build up would be greatly appreciated.  I am aware that this, to someone who is fairly new to the game, a daunting undertaking, but I am looking forward to the challenge.   I also have a 9 year old who is convinced that Daddy can do anything to make his little girl happy so............................

Brian on here sometimes has a mech for these. Dan Cooney makes the bases for the stoners. He is out of CA and normally goes to the Chicago show, so maybe he could bring you a base to the Nov show. Jim Still from Northland Jukeboxes makes the pulls out of spun aluminum. Tony Stacey makes the screened glass sets. If you need any of these numbers shoot me a PM. Hope this helps.....

It was good meeting you the other night Jack.  Shoot me a PM with your address, I think I have an additional part of the mech in Woburn.  I will send it to you when I find it.

My buddy who had one would fill his stoner with the bite sized hershey bars and lolly pops so his kids wouldn't be eating too much candy.  

Mine was a little rough; it definitely needed more love than I could afford to give her at this time.  I was kinda sad to see the stoner go, but now there is an empty piece of floor space where another soda machine or jukebox can go .

I hope you & your daughter enjoy it , I'm sure it will be fully stocked with candy before you know it.

I'll get serial # off and post some time this weekend.   Definately think the "funsize" bars are the way to go.  Having a true theater room in the basement for my daughter and her friends is going to be great but at her age I am buying new clothes left and right because she's growing vertically, don't need to contribute to the horizontal as well     Will also try to take some pics of machine this weekend and post as well.    Thanks again flippa, was nice to meet someone else bitten by the bug in person...............

Serial # best I can decipher is 62SME34607.  Am I correct in assuming that dates the machine at 1962?

1962 is correct based on my understanding of the Stoner s/n's!

1962 is probably the last year that they made Stoner Candy machines.  Fro some reason, they removed the mirrors on the later grade versions.
