I found it interesting and disturbing...when my wife came out here to Germany to visit last month, she wanted to take some Kindereggs back home to the kids. Luckily I saw a note at the base customs office about taking them home to the states...they aren't allowed and would be confiscated if found. I asked the agent what could possibly be wrong with chocolate hollow eggs with a toy surprise (very cool ones) inside? He told me that we won't allow them into the states because Germany refuses to put a warning on the wrapper that you shouldn't eat the toy! I guess the kids in Germany are just smart enough to figure that out, unlike their dumber counterparts in America! Glad I have someone to warn me that hot coffee is hot!!
I teach third graders who are in a German immersion program. I've seen those kindereggs before, but not recently. I'll have to ask them if they ever get them anymore.
