Hi Anybody... I have a Cavalier cs 64-c that has sat for a long while. I am going thru motor and wiring to cooling unit. I am trying to figure out wiring to thermostat. There are two wires coming from thermostat and i have one tied to power the other ?. I dont know where to tie the second wire and am afraid to touch it to anything cause i can short it out or something. I think it may go to cooling fan but not sure. Sad thing is i have downloaded wiring diagram and cant make heads or tails of it..I would appreciate some input and i am sure i will have many more questions as this project has officially begun...Thanks

The thermostat interrupts power to the compressor when it senses the temp cold enough. So, one wire to the power and the other to the compressor.

just think of it as a temperature controlled light-switch, it will have one hot wire from the line going into it, & the other wire will go to the compressor to turn it on , the compressor will also have the line return (neutral) to complete the circuit, remember that switches switch the hot side of the load.

Thanks Guys!!!!..I think i got it as long as the fan in the cooler (Evaporator Fan) if thats right..runs continuous...The compressor will shut off but i have yet to hear fan in the cooler quit. If these steps are correct i am on to wiring up door wires, coke light at very top, coin amount light which is the size of a night light bulb and the coin mech which i think is a vendo..When i temped em in i got the big coke light working but couldnt get the coin amount light to work even after a new bulb also the coin mech hums pretty good and gets pretty warm to the touch when allowed to run awhile...This is the reason i havent hooked it yet. Now that the wires are correct on compressor i will try it again. Oh and you will be hearing from me again shortly...Thanks a lot and i do appreciate your genius...
