Hi Guys I have a 1960 Vendorlator B56MVF56B-G   Pepsi Square Top

I haven't used it in a couple of months and I noticed today that a solenoid is clicking every 20 seconds or so and after 2 hrs it was not cooling inside the cabinet.
I'm not technically minded (although I can vend and undo a cold bottle of beer without any help!) and I'd like to try and find out what the problem might be?
I shot a quick video on You-tube of anybody has a couple of seconds to listen to my machine and maybe help me make a diagnosis?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOE502YMIjw&list=UUxyI6btaXqxL7gEOcnnzjcw&index=1&feature=plcp

Appreciate any help!

Russell

Ha! I am musically inclined and can play a good stereo!
Sounds like you need to install a 3-in-1 start/run capacitor.

I agree, it sounds like your start/run over-current ( it's called a "clikit") is cutting out after failed attempts to start the compressor, (think of it as a built in circuit breaker mounted on the compressor) so as mentioned above, you'll need to go get a 1/4 HP 3-in-1 starter/booster & see if it will kick the compressor in the pants & get 'er running again, it's ( the compressor) is probably stuck from sitting a while ( hopefully) if it doesn't work, ( the 3-in-1) then it's time to replace the compressor.

Graingers online, carries them & so do 99% of all HVAC suppliers, I see you're in Sydney, Australia, so you'll have to check locally, but for others who read this post and are in need of one,  if you are in the Detroit,MI area, Downriver supply in Warren is open until 5PM on Saturday ( 9-mile & Vandyke ave) they cost about $20.00

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!

Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor

Sounds like the start/run relay is bad, you could just replace it.
