Retrofitting coke machines

I have a pre-1960 Cavalier coke machine that I think I can convert to dispensing 12 oz cans instead of the old style bottles. My question is: Is it worth it? I don't know where I would find bottles of this type which (in my opinion) would make this machine useless unless I can dispense something. On the other hand, are there collectors out there that want an untouched machine that works? I appreciate any thoughts on this.

Have you tried beer bottles?

They fit and are much cheaper than "original" type bottles
