Marvin
A few of the things I try to keep in mind when I'm working on purchasing something:
When I grow tired of it and go to sell it will I get my money back out?
How hard of a sell will it be? Is it a rare piece?
Did someone already get into it? Am I going to have to straighten out someone elses mess? Will that cost me money?

Just how I look at it

Thanks Tom,
Thats the same way I look at it.  If it's something I'm planning on keeping then I will pay what I feel good with.

This machine would just be a toy, so if I can't score it cheap, then I'm going to pass.
