I got a call and email from a guy today, who has 10 Brand new in the box Cornelius compact 50 Slider machines.. He found them in a storage locker in Florida(yes a real deal Storage wars type of find)... ok,  know the Compact 50 is not the greatest machine, but how often do you find one new in the box..

anyways.. he is looking to sell them and is getting me photos of them... he does not know what to ask for them..I told him I know a few guys and can ask if anyone was interested in some or one..

they are generic he said,, no Pepsi or Coke logos, just a "Cold Drinks" id Plate for the front..

I'll post the photos when he sends them..

anyone interested I'll see if he just wants me to post his contact info or what.. as I really don't feel like being in the middle on this one..

I gave him a price for all ten, but he wants to get as much as he can, so he's feeling everyone out...
I can post a photo layer as I'm going out the door...

Here's Pat's thread, I couldn't find the others as examples: http://soda-machines.com/discussions/index.php/topic,12752.0.html

I guess it was just the style of the day, but how could Coke go from the great look of the red/white machines to that awful looking woodgrain.  Even the humble Cornelius looks great redone in the various paint schemes.  I thought Pat's Dr. Pepper was especially unique and eye catching.  It makes you want to come up and get a soda.  The woodgrain model looks like something you would buy live bait out of.

Looks like they part out fairly well. The coin mech above looks like it is electric. Mine isn't.

The guy contacted me again, I asked him to put a price on them, and that I would forward his contact info to interested buyers... he asked if 500 was about right, I say no, that was too high...we'll see what he comes back with and then I'll post his info if he wants me to.

I have to agree with the earliar comments about the 'woodgrain".  I just can't get used to it and I grew up in the 1970s.

That's $50 bucks apiece?    Sounds fair to me if they are NOS.

WOW!!!   someone is looking at making a nice little profit ,  So John did you ask him if he took a blow to the head in the last 10 days or fall down a flight of stairs.
honestly  I would do $200 if they had the light kit, if not then they are only worth $100 all day. smile

I paid only $40 for mine, in great shape and honestly these were made in the 70's and they aren't very collectable coolers... It seems like sellers have been asking outrageous prices for their soda machines/coolers lately...?  down

Yea I paid $50 for mine and it works but being that ugly brown I don't think anybody would want to buy bait out of it.

I heard these storage war shows got a lot of wanna-bees off the couch and out to make their fortunes.
Looks like this guy is really hyped up and doing all his homework, cuz he's already contacted two of the most knowledgable soda machine guys in the country.
We don't know how high he bid on these machines but since he probably knew nothing about them beforehand, I'm willing to bet he may have more than a little trouble just trying to break even.

Yeah I agree.. he thinks he found a gold mine...

I told him I have bought and sold unrestored units for 50.00 each and that they are not very collectable...

He said he was checking some other "sources" to get some pricing (little does he know we all know each other, ha ha)..

I'll suggest 100 for the ones in boxes and 75 for the ones not in boxes...

and if he wants to sell the for that, I'll pass along his info...

Is he paying you to take them?Huh?Huh?

Why would anyone put in all that time to redue those machines and remove the ugly brown wood finish?  I would simply harvest the colling systems and call it a day.

I do think $180 would be fair if all the parts are still in new condition. But I am not an expert.
