I use the 8 oz coke bottles that i get from samclub to fill my machine.. I started to wonder, does anyone think that the Coke company will stop producing these small bottles anytime soon?

And as long as we are willing to pay .80 each, they should be available.

They aren't going away for a while according to my source at Coca Cola  ( Detroit bottling plant).

I wonder if we should save the bottles just in case, do you think we can refill them with root beer or something?

You can refill them but it is time consuming.  Search "racking tube" in the message area to find other discussions on the topic.  Clean and sanitize the bottles or you could wind up with a bacteria issue!  As a home-brewer, I know that there is nothing that can grow in beer that can kill you but it will make your beer taste awful.  I am not so sure the same thing applies to pop that is laden with sugar!

Here is a link that outlines the equipment that you can get that will make it easier:

No, we are actually nice guys.  However, someday - and that day may never come - we may call upon you to do a service for us . . .
