I guess HAPPY and HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO ALL Is an ok way for a newbie to start his first post. I stumbled across a wd-12 and a we-6 (together in the same garage) while looking for something to perk-up the family reunion I will be hosting this summer. The plan is fix and sell the we-6 so I can keep the wd-12. At any time anyone should feel free to yell at or slap me as I am new to this aspect of repair/rebuild, all my exp is with industrial equip/machines/systems. (35+yrs) What I need is the top/right bezel that covers the ICE COLD cover and the line cover for the rear. Thanks STEVE

Steve, Welcome to the site. Those machines may be the first of many if you are like the rest of us. Those Westy's are nice boxes but be careful not to put too much money into them or you might not get it out. They are old but not particularly rare and due to their size may not be as desireable as others out there. That being said, I like them but they do take up a lot of room and are heavy. If the original paint is decent and there is no rust, you might want to clean them up and apply a good coat of wax. They are only original once and that will save you a lot of money. Some collectors like the original patina on the old machines. Re-painting all of the embossed lettering can run into the hundreds of dollars if done by a good sign painter or pin-striper. I am sure someone on here will have the parts you are looking for. Tim

Welcome Steve! And Happy New Year to you too. The machine will be a hit at the reunion I'm sure and perfect for a big gathering. I have an extra line cover that came off a WD-5, which according to my manual will fit the WD-12. Is that the machine you need it for? LMK

WOW !!! SUPER FAST RESPONSE This is nothing like trying to get answers/ideas from some of the people I work with. anyway, the parts I need are for the we-6. The wd-12 is complete, no rust, 1 small ding and the liner cleaned up great for paint or powdercoat. The outside paint is ok with a nice patina. I agree that original is best maybe 95% of the time. That being said I don't think it's original as it seems to have a very slight orange tint and I"m pretty sure I saw a spot or 2 of paint on the body gasket/seal. So far, all new rubber, 2 fan motors,1 rear comp.cover,1 cap catcher,4 lid liners, 2 handles and about 1.5 million hours of pure fun. I paid 500 for both and my total should be around 2500 to 2800 for both when complete. Am I standing in QUICKSAND

The line cover I have fits some styles of the WE-6, some styles of the WE-10, WD-5, WD-12 & WD-20 If your machine still has the ID plate attached [to the body - NOT on the compressor plate], then you should be able to get the "Style #" off of it. My Line Cover fits styles Y-3972 & Y-6651, but not 996602,1283 999, 1284 065, 1380 010 or 1383 531 of the WE-6

Oh well.... I have no idea what the difference may be - the manual has different part numbers for your Style number is all I know. If all else fails, your welcome to try it - I'll refund the purchase price if it does not work. LMK Creighton - You don't need it do you? Will it fit your Style number?

LMK Thanks for the effort. I think the one I'm looking for would be longer as this unit doesn't have a cut-out in the rear wall and the line set needs to travel up and over entering through the rear of the small top cover behind the bezel cover that I need. How does that sound to you Creighton ? Steve
