I can pick this up for what I think is a decent price.  I'm waiting for more pictures, but he said he would rate it a 6/10.  Mostly due to the cosmetics.  Normal scratches, dings, and it looks like someone took a spray can and marker to it.  It cools and and internals are there (shelves, coin mech, etc).  Without knowing more about it, what's a safe amount to pay?  Thanks.

looks from the picture someone tried breaking into it as there are several dents to the main door near the lock.
but maybe just a bad picture... don't know about 96 models but I paid $700 last January for a nice Cav72 from a antique mall...
96s are a little bigger... maybe check eBay's completed listings to get an idea of a price...

Thanks for the info.  I looked for current and completed CS-96 auctions before I posted, but I couldn't find any.  I'll keep an eye out on ebay though.

Surprisingly when I see both unrestored 72's and 96's the asking price isn't a huge difference, with that being said I would pony up the extra $200 or so and pick up a 72 instead IMO. Much shorter and looks much better.

What do you plan to do with the machine? It's one thing to buy cheap if you plan to restore and re-sell. However, it's my opinion that paying more for a machine you like and plan to keep for a long time isn't a big deal.

What is the machine to the left?
