I just purchased a vintage 4ft porcelain Coke sign to hang on my shed.  I hate to put it outside but that is why I bought it.  I mounted an old fashion gas station light over the location to light it up. My question is what would be the best way to protect it.  I was thinking auto wax to repel the rain.  Any thoughts?

The boys over on oldgas are fond of "feed and wax". Never have been able to find it in WA.
I just use turtle wax.
If it is not in direct sunlight or rain may not need anything.
Clear coat or varnish cause problems later and do nothing for the sign.
