Westinghouse WD -10 Tub Gasket Placement / Funtronics 28-Z

Okay, so long story short I accidentally threw out the original tub gaskets for my Westinghouse WD-10!!!  

The good news is the I was able to find the parts via Funtronics!  The part number is 28-Z. I was able to get a sample piece, and I having trouble positing  the gasket on the tub.
The problem that I'm having is I can't seem to position it right, so the breaker strips can line up, there are no pre-punched holes on the gasket, and part of the piece hangs over??
I also can't get the break strips to lay flush in order to screw everything together.

Is anybody still with me?  I have submitted some photos, but as of right now I'm a little confused?

Pretty sure, some of that rubber piece, the top flat part is to go up on to the red /painted part of the cooler as its the gasket for your lid to sit on... it looks as if your positioning it too low..

So, I did some more fiddling around with the gasket, and I don't think it will work with the straight thin piece up.   I able to slide the hinge piece in and was able to get the gasket more flush to the tank.  The breaker strip sits flush now and I think the gasket is positioned correctly?

I had a new galvanized tank made since mine was very rusted.  The bottom holes don't exactly match up with the hole pattern for a screw for say.  There is no thread to have to chase behind it, so I going to get the same stainless steel screws size. It will  just have to be a  sheet metal type to grab a hold of the tank better.  The top hole pattern of the breaker strip fits of course nicely because I have the original breaker strips.  The left over rubber from the gasket at the bottom, I will simply just have to cut off I suppose?

As far as the metal tank I took a larger socket and made circular shape with a slight indentation so when the condensation have a route of travel down the drain tube to the compressor pan.  They must of used a metal die cast stamp to break the tank. I figure as long as I have some indentation coming from the top left to the bottom right and the drain tube that should slop it efficiently. I was a good piece to use is the felt that you cut for under chair and run a v- pattern to the drain??

Any thought on my condensation plan as a far as drainage.  I have a 1/2 copper tube spot welded to the new tank which came off the original tank.  I don't think I want to mess this part up?
