My Mom had a Candy Route for years.. over 300 machines around our tri county area.. bars, stores, factories, etc...
it was nearly a 30,000 business!  in quarters!

Wow... Maybe I will rethink it. I wouldn't generate enough money here at work, but I do know some friends with businesses...  I think in NJ you need a vending license to put machines out there... My boys are always trying to find a way to make money.

Get them involved.  The people in the hobby are getting older and will lose interest.  Good to see some younger people enjoying it.

That is pretty cool!  It was one of the first projects I did last year.  Just sanded them, used some spay paint, and a little automotive pin stripe via Auto Zone.

Mine were Oak / Accorn, 6 lb Glass Globes, .10 Cent Mechs.

Thanks for sharing, I guess there is something good out of it!

Very nice work by Rob!! Jumping through the hoops for a vending permit will be great prep for the real world.

Like you said, the parts were more than the value of the item, but the story, and what they are worth to you are priceless!

Glad to see there are people out there who allow their kids to explore, fail, and get back on their own feet... ON THEIR OWN!
