I picked up a Toms 5 cent snack machine and it is in need of some parts.  The glass in the front is missing but I can find that local.  I believe the coin mech needs replacing; does anyone have one for sale or know where to find a 5 cent coin mech that will fit the Toms machine?  Thank you.

I may be able to help... Do you have a schematic of the original coin mech configuration (or pics of a complete one)? What is the mech doing/not doing and what do you think is missing?

I will post some pictures of the machine with the mech in place.   I can't tell what, if anything, is missing, but the coin falls straight through to the coin return.
  Take care.

It could be some sort of Sold Out feature, so coins are not accepted if the machine is empty. Are you testing it with product in the machine? That is a fairly good sign that coins are making it back to the coin return cup!

I finally just took the coin mech out and cleaned it up a bit; also had to bend a few parts to get it to work.  It was very rusty as you can see in the picture.  I put everything back together and it works like a charm.  Now I need to find the knobs/handles for the levers in front and a coin return bezel.  As promised earlier I have posted a couple of pictures.  Thank you.

Nice looking machine. I have a 5 cent Lance Machine made by Vendo.  Does yours hold normal packs of crackers or the old four pack cube from the 50's and early 60's.

The 4-pack crackers seem to work the best.  It also works quite well with regular size candy bars.  Anyone have an idea where I could find the knobs to go over the push-down mechanisms?  Trying to push down on the levers without the knobs sure hurts alot.  Atleast the candy makes you feel better, I guess!

Looks like a nice original machine! I just purchased the smaller version of this machine that only has 4 or 5 selections...
I do not know where to find the black knob covers...

I restored a machine like yours that was missing all but one of the knobs. The seat adjustment knobs from a 68 chevelle fit perfect. I bought mine from Ausleys.com for around $5 each.  These knobs are cast and chrome plated. I did some sanding on them so they didn't hit the sheet metal on the front of the machine, bead blasted the plating off and powder coated them black.
