Nice small little cooler, looks to be pretty straight too.

I'm guessing you bought it from one of the Gunna' brothers?

Ok, the Gunna' brothers seem to have a large family. These are the guys who tear into a machine when they first get it. They take it apart, sandblast here, primer there, maybe even a little bondo and then walk away, and for the next few days .......weeks......months.......and years, they keep telling people:

"I'm Gunna' restore this machine".  biggrin

That guy has family around here also.  Sorry to say I feel like I'm related to them sometimes also.  To many projects and to little time / funds.

the story is pretty common, it popped up locally on craigslist sent the email and  a couple of phone calls later i was there.  the seller was a nice older gentleman who got it from a widow in that condition 4 years ago, she was throwing it out.  it is straight a few dings and some missing parts.  does anyone know if they reproduced parts for Glascocks.  It's missing the hinges, handle and the arm that holds the lid stopper snapped off.

I'm pretty sure Fun-Tronics repros some Glascock parts. I think I remember seeing the handle on their site.

If you finish the restore for the Gunna Bros., then we all will have to pitch in and give you a round tuit!  tounge

I hate for my first attempt at a restoration be on such a unique item, I may need help.  Thanks for the advice collecture but I now have another question. Funtronics did have the hinges and handle but theres are look like they are finished in stainless and the pics i find look like they originally had brass hardware.  any opinions?

Maybe you could have handle, hinges and bottle opener plated with brass?
