I have one of these. The asking price seems high I think. Anybody ever see one sell before?

I have not seen them, but I highly doubt the sellers claim that these where made when McDonalds first opened...  glare

looks like something from the 70's 80's maybe?

I didn't catch that. No, they are definitely not from when McDonald's first opened. I don't think they are even as old as the 70's.

Yep, a pretty dubious claim! I remember seeing these in relative abundance in the late 80's early 90's.

I sent him a message and this was his response.

Not when the original McDonald's were opened.  They were from when McDonald's began opening their Satellite stores, many of which have now closed down or redecorated.  These are no longer in the stores.

What do you all think these may be worth? Should I respond with a probable value to help him or just let it go. I message a lot of the people with off the wall prices and nicely explain what they have and the price. Some people get angry and a lot of people thank me for the help and have more questions. So I am not sure whether I should try to help on this one or let it go.

I have one, but couldn't even begin to guess a value.

Yes, it lights up but it's not neon, it etched acrylic with a back light! What to offer? I wouldn't offer more the $25 but it's value is what are you willing to pay.
