Does anyone know the history of this item, Coca Cola Horse? Is this an item that was produced by Coca Cola or did someone just use an old coca cola metal base and weld a metal horse to it?

Pretty common fantasy peice, not original, someone put a horse on a coke base..
worthless, unless your buying for the base, or like horses I guess.

How old is the horse?? I recently helped a buddy move around 7 turn of the century carasel horses. They sold to a dealer in Iowa for $3k each.

I helped a co-workers mother load a packed storage locker into semi when she moved out west and she had two of them. Color scheme was different on the horses, but same idea. Was a pain to move due to akward size, but I ma sure will make someone a great dust collector....

Not sure. This photo is from an ad on craigslit in Sacramento. The seller is asking 650.00 for it.
What is funny is that my mother in law owns the same horse sitting on the same Coca Cola stand.
She got her's from a neighboor that stuck it in front of his house with a free sign on it.
It made me think that maybe at sometime they were produce by Coca Cola.

to quote caraousels.com
"Aluminum horses attached to a "Coca Cola" base are NOT carousel horses. These are cast repros which have been produced in Mexico over the past several years. They were made in the likeness of Herschell/Spillman and Parker horses but they never rode carousels. "
Other sites I found mentioned they were made in Mexico, and the Coca cola police made them stop using their logo on the base.
that said, still a cool peice for the game room

The $3000 carousel horses from the turn of the century are carved from wood and then painted. That's why they sell for so much money now. There are only a few intact wooden carousels left. Most were sold off by the piece.
