I have a National Rejectors Inc coin mech in my CS 64C machine and it currently has some issues.
The coins that I tried got stuck halfway through the cycle. After the coins are in there the solenoid does not allow for a bottle to be removed. I removed the stuck coins and when I tried it again, they got stuck. Someone told me that I should run the entire thing through the dishwasher because it might be dirty. How much should I wash and is there a specific way to do so?
In case this helps anyone the model # is D11002 and the serial number 92428.

If you run it through the dish washer ONLY wash the slug rejector. The electronic parts in the rest of the mech might get screwed up if you put the whole thing in there.

Someone told me that I should run the entire thing through the dishwasher because it might be dirty. How much should I wash and is there a specific way to do so? That was me I think and absolutely yes - ONLY run the slug rejector through the DW. You can remove it from the mech by pushing up the two arms on each side of the top, pull the rejector slightly toward you and pull it out. Be careful not to distort the Coin Return Armatures behind it. It sounds like (in this description of your issue) the coins are passing through the rejector though and they are hanging up on the switches. Can you post a pic of the mech showing where exactly the coins hang up?

I know this picture is bad, i took it by myself with my cell phone holding a flash light under my jaw. I also did not wish to take it apart further by myself and I actually lost a small screw while attempting to put the front plate back on. If you kind of look where the screwdriver is pointing, then you can see the opening where I found the dimes from this view. When I had an extra set of hands, I was able to remove the entire thing and remove the rest that were lodged.
This might sound stupid but when I wash it should I use soap or not. Otherwise thanks for the help and hopefully it was just dirty and backed up with dimes.

If you remove the slug rejector, you will be able to access the backside and make any adjustments - I can walk you through them. I have drawn on your picture arrows indicating the arms that you need to lift up on the free the rejector from the mech.

Ok I cleaned it and got everything back in ok. Nickles will push the one extruding wire down and dimes will only push it down half way. Is this a grease problem or something else? Regardless the wire will not spring back up to allows bottles to be dispensed. So I now believe it to be the solenoid problem.

Is the switch wire binding anywhere or dirt hindering the passage of the dime? If you unplug the mech and remove it from the machine, you can then remove the cover plate on the back of the mech and have access to the switches.
If it is a switch problem, I am fairly certain you can get a new switch from Mouser Electronics that will work. All you would need to do is solder the wires and put the old switch wire on the new switch.

I uploaded a video to youtube showing how the wire does not go back up after coins pass and how dimes do not push the wire down enough. Hopefully you can see kinda what im dealing with and I can also attempt to make another video if it helps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2W-cljxR7U

I'd try pulling out the coin mech and taking a look at that switch to see if the wire is binding on anything, they can bend the wrong way and cause problems.
Another observation from the video, and some thoughts, possibly need some expert answers though. Is that coin mech for nickels only? I don't see any change gears at the bottom, and the coin path for nickels and dimes shouldn't be the same. Those micro switches are what 'tell' the circuitry that the coin has made it through the rejector and there are typically three for each mech (dimes, nickels, and quarters). I only see one in yours.

tkaz - it is a complete mech. I have one just like it on my C-72 and it does not accept quarters and will not give change, but will (or should) vend on a dime or 2 nickels. I'll have to pull mine and take a look at it so I can be more informed.
