OK - I spent about two hours tonight uploaded all the pics I have of my restoration of the WB60 I bought last April. They are all in the Photo Gallery under Member's Restorations on the Main Page: http://soda-machines.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=66&g2_itemId=5815Not so much detail about the paint & body restoration or cabinet assembly, but quite a bit on the vend mech if any of you dare to go there (it is not that bad!). I hope it helps somebody sometime. As the last few assemblies, etc are reinstalled, I'll keep adding pics to the Photo Album and will post a final pic of the fully assembled machine here in this thread. Thanks again - without this site and everyones knowledge and input, it would have been a much more difficult job!

That vending mech is unbelievable, I don't think it ever looked that good coming out of the factory. The whole machine looks great, can't wait to see it finished.

The Vend Mech is more intimidating looking than it really is. I took a lot of pics (probably double the number that I uploaded), which is what we all preach here at SMC. Each pic is in the order of breakdown - reverse for assembly. It really is not that difficult of a mechanism. Hopefully the pics will aide some of you!

Very nice work Tom ! ! ! It's interesting to see this kind of detail spent on the up and coming 1960's models.

Very nice work Tom ! ! ! It's interesting to see this kind of detail spent on the up and coming 1960's models. Thanks Jim! Some here would call me crazy for spending the amount of money I've put into this model (a little over $2000 so far), but it is a much more practical machine for everyday use. I do love my round tops, but they are limited to bottles and this model is not! It is also the one machine I have vivid memories of as a kid...I HATED it! I was always so excited to get my soda that I would put my money in first (like all the other machines of the day), then I would hear the gears rumble and get P.O.'d. Sometimes it would spit out something I would drink, but most times a soda I didn't like or what I wasn't in the mood for. The Select-O-Matics were not around where I lived, but I always ran into them on trips with my parents and was not accustomed to the backwards operation. I can't think of many machines that required you to choose your drink prior to inserting money. I think the S-O-M's have great looks and design. I also have a stockpile of extra parts for it like several working vend motors and several sets of switches, so I should be able to handle any repairs for a long time to come. Maybe I'll redo my C55E in DP someday??

OK - drum roll please! Got it pretty much finished up today - sign, decals and I also got the replacement bearing plates in and lubed the vend mech. The look is not going to change, but I do still have some things to finish up like SO Flapper springs, rubber bumpers, vending adjustments...little stuff. Again...don't think I could have done it without SMC!! At least it wouldn't have turned out this nice!!
