Opps. I believe you are missing your link to your auction or Craig's listing...

And it's not just the fishtail Coca-Cola logo!  That is way to much for that machine! jawdrop

Interesting that the experienced E-Bayer's stopped bidding at $364 which would have been a good price for a complete Glasco.  Could this be the Resto Rick/Pawn Star phenomenon striking yet again? glare

Of course, once the guy spends $1,500 on a complete restoration he will be able to sell that for $5 or $6 grand on E-Bay.  At least that is what Kilroy told me! biggrin

WOW, yeah I think something is up on this one? but who knows.. 52 bids for a machine that you can find 10 of them at any given time online? Yes it looks to be a nice original and yes I have sold complete nice originals for 650.00 in the past and am proud of that.. but 995?

So what do you think was fishy about this auction. I thought 995 was crazy also. Steve

Funny thing is that machine had been listed at least one or two other times for much less and got no bids...what changed??

Any time an auction has 1-2 people that keep driving the price higher and higher beyond the value range makes me think either shill bidding or stupidity. I don't get in bidding wars and I definately don't bid where a "0" feedback person is bidding. Look at what you can see of this "0" feedback bidder's profile - he bid on this machine and no other items. When I first started eBay, I was finding all sorts of stuff to bid on and probably had 10 items bid on in the first 24 hours of registering....come on??
Now I just watch items and put in my highest bid within seconds of the auction ending. I may put in a small bid if I feel like it is not titled well and I don't want them to be able to change it, but I really don't do a lot on eBay anymore compared to years ago. I haven't sold anything in nine months or more.
