I just purchased an older pepsi machine and would like at some point to refurbish it. I don't know what model machine it is and as far as I can tell its not marked anywhere.. on the front it does say vendorlator, its serial #(was paint inside the door) is 17876 and ID # is 3036. Its a small machine, only 53" tall and 20 something deep and wide.. its complete and everything is in working order though I was told the decals are not original. any help at all on what to do and how to start would be greatly appreciated.. looks like early 60-64, V63ss/(ss= slant-shelf) bottle machine, has the mid 60's rectangular, coin entry bezel, as opposed to the earlier 60's round entry coin bezel, capacity was listed as 56/ 12 oz. bottles, or 63/ 6-10 oz. bottles. precools 16, weight @ 361 lbs. it's a basic model without the glassdoor or the light-up sign either.
earlier models had an aluminum grill on the bottom, later models had the plain panel as on yours. hope this helps get you started!...JohnieG

thanks for the reply.. the year matches what I was told and knowing the model number should help a lot.. a couple more questions if anyone can help.. its in working order as it is but I would like to clean it up a bit before using it.. it has almost no rust and what little there is is surface.. what do you recommend to use for the rust that is there and to clean the metal on the insides... any other suggestions as to what to do to the insides would be great also.. oh and are they the right decals on the machine? thanks again.. Greg

The Pepsi Cap is in line for this machine, and the bottledoor decals are correct for a metal (not glass) door, however the 5-Cent decal is wrong for the era, should be 10-Cents, even 15-Cents would be acceptable, you might even see a "deposit-required" decal (for bottles that left the premises)
I have a "Faygo" ) that is all White, but when you get into the loading compartment, it's plain to see that they were once "Coke" red! this is because it was common for bottlers to converted over other flavor machines to help fill the need for their brands.

Found it's "evil-twin" on "Greedbay" listed as a Model # FA 56 B4B seems a close match, and is being sold as a parts machine, note the glass bottle door..(hint-hint)
