Cretors Popcorn Steam Mechanism

I have a friend how just got this yesterday, it's the Steam powered mechanism from an old Cretors Popcorn Wagon/machine.. I think it's missing the nut tumbler , and I have no idea how it works, but he says it does, it is missing the actual popcorn making part, but hey the original clown is cool...
he is looking to sell and said I'd mention it to you guys..
Attached is the unit for sale in picture one, and other pictures of what it looked like in the wagon. he is asking 500 or offers on it..

Neat engine. Did they used to use those to draw attention or did it power the pop corn popper?

Not exactly sure, but I believe the steam engine, operated a Hot Nut Portion of the machine and not sure exactly how it interacted with the popcorn machine? as I don't think you can steam popcorn to make it pop? so not sure..

Still pretty cool. That engine even on its own would be cool to display. I love old mechanical things like that.

Think the steam engine turned the nut roasting drum and spun the clown. Saw one of these about 30 yrs. ago in the Wrap museum Minden NB.

Is that the pioner village place they have out there? I see a billboard for it every time I go down to school but have never stopped there.
