Just received my chrome parts back for my 81a, from Courtesy Chrome. They did a great job. I did make one mistake, I should have had the coin door lever chrome, instead of polished. Didn"t polish all the great, few pits. Boxing it up now, to send
back. There had been a few discussion, when you chrome the handle it doesn't fit
right. Turn around was great. Mike

If it is the crank handle that you are referring to, make sure you "break it down" and remove the clutch pawl assembly before chroming. If you don't, it will freeze up and you won't be able to flip it back to open the coin door.

Okay, I miss spoke. The handle I meant is the main handle, that opens the big door.Mike

       You might run into linkage problems chrome plating the main door handle too! Originals were a thinner zink plating, so you would be better off just leaving it polished...... although it is now bare metal which will probably start to rust later. You can paint it if necessary or send it in with your shelves if you are planning to zink plate them.

When I take mech and/or rejector parts in to be plated, I always have to specify 'minimum thickness' on the work order; otherwise, I run into trouble with parts fitting over posts, etc.
Something to think about when re-plating old parts that need to fit just right!

If you chrome plating the main door latch handle, yes you can run into some "fitting" issues, I usually just zinc platethat handle unless a customer requests all chrome, then you have to machine or sand paper out a little on the sides of the where the handle goes through in order to make it fit , and not bind.
