Ingenuity, you gotta love it!  biggrin

I see how it works.

When the main door is closed the coin mech is disengaged from the ratchet mechanism on the drum. You use the window crank handle on the left of the main door to rotate the drum.

When you find the brand that you want, insert your dime and crank the handle and the clear plastic window slides out of the way allowing you pull the bottle out.

This is only the second one of these I've seen. The other neat thing is when you crank the handel after putting in your dime a lever moves over the ratchet mechanism on the back of the door so you can't spin the drum and take another bottle out. you have to release the coin mech crank handle closing the plastic window before you can spin the drum again. Very neat!

I like this machine a lot, anybody reach out to the guy to find out what the reserve is on it?  I know the drum can only handle 8oz bottles, but it should be able to be adapted to 12oz right?

I've sold stuff to him over the years off eBay - his name is David.
Even if it is a 6.5 oz drum, you should be able to switch it with the later model 12oz capable drum.
I bet the reserve is somewhere near the $1800 BIN - $1600??

Not sure, it is a neat setup for sure... I'm still trying to find photos of another adapation I have seen in the past that allowed 3 different cans to be vended out of a Vendo 39. it looked something crudely related to this, Please forgive me NON Cad Drawing. it allowed 3 selections as well of cans, each can rolled down a stainless column, the actuator was used to move a plexiglass peice out of the way, similar to this set up once money was in, and there was no need to rotate a drum as the selections where gravity fed.. anyone else seen these before?

I wonder who made them and why they stopped.. I'd think that it would really increase the popularity of the V39 even more if it could vend cans... I'm sure anyone with some stainless steel fabricating ability could create it pretty easiliy again?

John -
What prevented multiple cans from being removed? It seems that, in the design you have drawn, all cans could be vended on a single purchase. Neat idea, but hard to visualize an anti-jackpot protection. If an anti-jackpot preotection could be implemented, I can see V-shaped columns for each hole. The eBay machine could theoretically vend 39 different flavors.
